The GREAT JUBILEE

THE WORD SIROCCO Thursday, December 31, 2020 Month Theme : Release Topic : The GREAT JUBILEE Scripture Reading : Leviticus 25:1-15 Main Text: Leviticus 25:10 10 And ye shall hallow the fiftieth year, and proclaim liberty throughout all the land unto all the inhabitants thereof: it shall be a jubile unto you; and ye shall return every man unto his possession, and ye shall return every man unto his family. We are in the days of the Jubilee. Our sins are forgiven, we are free from bondage, our diseases are healed and our lost possessions are restored to us. In concluding this book, I wish to admonish believers that we have reasons to shout. The sound of Jubilee is loud and clear. We cannot continue looking defeated. We are not guilty rebels any longer. Our sins, no matter how grave, are forgiven. The words of Jesus Christ – “neither do I condemn thee” – are re-echoing in our time. It is wrong to act as if we are slaves of satan. We are free from sin, sickness and demonic oppression. Anc

The Power of Unity

The key to the Jubilee was the people responding to it in unity – throughout all the land and unto all the inhabitants (Leviticus 25:10). Disunity, greed, selfishness, etc. will deny as the joy of the Jubilee. In the Jubilee, we must be united in three ways to possess our possessions. 1. RESPONSE Everybody responded. It is dangerous for some people to refuse to respond the Jubilee. We must think the same way, speak the same words, feel the same way and sing the same songs. The walls of resistance collapse only when we respond together at once (Joshua 6:5). 2. RESPONSIBILITY We must

Take It by Force

A casual approach to the Jubilee produces no results. We must take if by force. I can imagine people rushing back home to take their property by force. Reminds me about the manner in which there was a great rush or crowd pressing to enter the Kingdom of Heaven from the days of John the Baptist – earnestness and violence (Matthew 11:12). People were earnest about the Kingdom of Heaven. They pressed to obtain the blessing by taking it by force – this is the manner in which cities were taken in the ancient days – besiegers pressed upon them with violence and destroyed walls. The spirit of

The Familiar Sound

The announcement of the Jubilee returned people to their families and properties (Leviticus 25:10). The sound of the Jubilee trumpet was a familiar sound which brought relief, joy, laughter and singing. The sound of preachers and believers in our time should not produce different effects from the familiar sound which is revealed in the Word of God. We must not produce guilt, bondage, fear, depression and defeat with our teaching, prophecy and practices. The sound of the Jubilee follows the blessings of the Jubilee namely: 1. Favour (Isaiah 60:9-10) — people receive favour and in turn

Bring Down the Walls II

In this first part of this topic, which was treated in yesterday, we learned that during the Jubilee, “the walls” around where people are held and around their families and possessions literally collapsed as they returned to take what belonged to them. Their possessions were released to them. The collapse of the walls in families is comparable with the collapse of the walls of Jericho. The children of Israel, under the leadership of Joshua shouted and blew the trumpets – similar to the Jubilee shofar – to bring down the walls of Jericho (Joshua 6:1-5). Th

Binding and Loosing 2

From yesterday’s devotional, we saw that the Jubilee trumpet did not sound on its own accord (Leviticus 25:9). We err when we think things can happen even if we do nothing – we must proclaim our Jubilee before it happens. If the time of the Jubilee arrived but no one sounded the trumpet, there would be no freedom. Blowing the horn of Jubilee is comparable with “binding the strong man” and “loosing the blessings of God upon the land”. Heaven works in partnership with the earth to release our blessings (Matthew 18:18). What we “bind” on earth is bound in Heaven. What we “forbid and declare to be improper and unlawful” is bound (Matthew 18:18 AMP). What we “loose” on earth is loose

The statements, “thou shalt cause the trumpet of the jubile to sound…” and “shall ye make the trumpet sound throughout all your land”, mean the people of the Israel had the responsibility to sound the trumpet (Leviticus 25:9). The Jubilee trumpet did not sound on its own accord. We err when we think things can happen even if we do nothing – we must proclaim our Jubilee before it happens. Revelation by the Spirit

THE WORD SIROCCO Tuesday, December 22, 2020 Month Theme : Release Topic : Revelation by the Spirit Scripture Reading : 1 Corinthians 2:1-14 Main Text: 1 Corinthians 2:10 10 But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God. The physical eye and ear cannot see or hear the Jubilee which is blessed with the things God has prepared for those who love Him — they are too good to the natural eye or ear. Those who are filled with the Holy Ghost however, know the indescribable spiritual and physical riches God gives to us in the Jubilee (1 Corinthians 2:9-14). Jesus Christ has set us free and given us all things freely. Three stages of revelation by the Holy Ghost are shown in the above scripture reference: 1. SEARCHING The Holy Ghost searches for the things of God. This depends on the partnership among the Father, Son and Holy Ghost. 2. SETTLING The settling of the Holy Ghost depends on our faith and purity. 3. SHARING The shar

Release from Prison

He sent messengers to Jesus Christ to find out if indeed He was the Messiah who had come to set captives free. • The answer Jesus Christ gave John (Matthew 11:4-6) was an indirect way of saying He was surely the Messiah. • It also meant while he was in the prison, he should maintain a positive attitude by looking at the events outside the prison. • The answer could also mean that if John could exercise faith in God, he could come out of the prison. Three keys to release: 1. POWER The blind receive their sight… …and the lame walk… …the lepers are cleansed… …and the deaf hear… …the dead are raised up… The power of Jesus Christ to do the above means, He had the power to release John the
