Month Theme: Reaping in the Jubilee
Topic: Keys to Lettting the Oppressed Go Free
Scripture Reading: Isaiah 58:1-12; Luke 4:16-21
To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.
The devil is the chief agent of oppression. People around the world are experiencing forms of oppressions doctors and psychologists cannot explain. The world acknowledges the existence of physical oppression but deny the reality of spiritual oppression – sicknesses and curses.
Jesus Christ’s life and ministry provides us the keys to let the oppressed go free (Acts 10:38):
1. Anointing - Jesus Christ was anointed with the Holy Ghost and power. He did not depend on physical ability.
2. Advance - Advance is the forward movement of a military unit toward the enemy. Jesus Christ went about – He did not wait for demons to come to Him but He looked for them. People who run away from demons cannot set the oppressed free.
3. Authority - God was with Him, giving Him the right to release the oppressed. God lives in you, and you live in God. God is the authority you need.
Spiritual oppression is more dangerous than the physical one. Jesus Christ came into the world to heal those who were oppressed by the devil. We are armed with the power of the name of Jesus Christ, the power of the blood of Jesus Christ, the power of the Word of God and the power of the Holy Ghost (2 Corinthians 10:1-6).
Prayer: pray for the grace and capacity to liberate the oppressed.
